Lalbaugcha Raja 2025 First Look Unveiled in Mumbai- Mukh Darshan- Ganeah chaturthi


The wait is finally over! The much-anticipated first look of Lalbaugcha Raja 2025 has been unveiled in Mumbai, filling devotees’ hearts with devotion and excitement ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2025.


The Majestic Idol


This year, the idol of Lalbaugcha Raja has been designed with unparalleled grandeur and divine charm:




Attire & Adornments: 


Bappa is seen in a royal purple dhoti and a majestic crown, seated gracefully on a golden throne. His attire also features maroon (merun) garments with golden embellishments, symbolizing prosperity and blessings.

Backdrop & Theme: 


The mandap resembles a lavish “Gajanan Mahal”, inspired by the crown of Tirupati Balaji. The magnificent darbar rises to nearly 50 feet, making it taller and more majestic than previous years.

Lighting & Ceremony: 


The unveiling was celebrated with dazzling laser lights, chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” and an overwhelming presence of devotees.

Eco-Friendly Approach


In tune with sustainable practices, this year’s idol has been crafted using lightweight and eco-friendly materials. This ensures not only grandeur but also a smoother, cleaner immersion during the visarjan.

Dates of Celebration


Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated from Wednesday, 27th August 2025 to Saturday, 6th September 2025. During this period, lakhs of devotees are expected to visit Lalbaug to seek the blessings of Navsacha Ganpati – the wish-fulfilling Ganesha.

Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai's most iconic Ganesh Chaturthi pandals, has a rich history that goes back to 1934. Established by the fishermen and vendors of the Koli community in Lalbaug, Mumbai, the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was formed following a vow (Navas) made by the community for the construction of a permanent marketplace. This simple beginning has since grown into a symbol of deep faith and devotion for millions of people.

The first look of Lalbaugcha Raja was revealed on Sepetember 5, amidst people performing to the tunes of traditional folk songs and numerous devotees that gathered with their sights set on getting a sneak-peak of Lord Ganesh.Lalbaugcha Raja aka ‘King of Lalbaug’, situated in Putlabai Chawl, is considered one of the most visited Ganesh pandals in Mumbai.

The Modern Era Today, Lalbaugcha Raja is known for its grand celebrations, elaborate decorations, and huge crowds. Each year, the pandal is visited by millions of devotees who come to seek blessings and enjoy the spiritual ambiance. The organizers also focus on giving back to society through social initiatives such as blood donation drives, medical camps, and educational support for underprivileged children.

Lalbagcha Raja2024 Ganesh Chaturthi Pictures 

Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten-day festival that starts on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month ‘Bhadrapada’, will start on September 7 this year. This auspicious ten-day festival starts with ‘Chaturthi’ and ends on ‘Anantha Chaturdashi’.




The festive period is also known as ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayak Chavithi’. The festival celebrates Ganesha as the ‘God of New Beginnings’ and the ‘Remover of Obstacles’ as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence.
It is celebrated with much fanfare in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, with lakhs of devotees converging into mandals to seek blessing from Lord Ganesh.
For the festivities, people bring Lord Ganesh idols to their homes, observe fasts, prepare mouth-watering delicacies, and visit pandals during the festival.

Ganesh Chaturthi commences on the fourth day of Hindu Luni-solar calendar month Bhadrapada. It is believed that Lord Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was born on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi in Magh month (fourth day of the bright half of moon’s cycle during January/February), decided by Hindu calendar (lunar calendar). Ganesh Chaturthi festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Ganeshotsav is celebrated to remember his birthday and venerates him as the god of good beginnings, fortune, wisdom, prosperity and obstacle remover (Vighnaharta). We wish all the Lord Ganesh devotees, a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. 

Lalbaugcharaja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal of Lalbaug is one of Mumbai’s most well-known pandals. Lalbaugcha Raja (King of Lalbaug) was founded in 1934 and is undoubtedly the most renowned and largest Ganesh statue in Mumbai, as well as the most visited. Lalbaugcha Raja mandal will build a replica of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir this year.


Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan will be available for 24 hours from ev3ning 7.00 PM, st 29th August Monday 2022 onwards. Mukh Darshan line will take the following route:- Chhatrapati Shivaji Ground (Garam Khada) – Dr.B.A. Road – Dattaram Lad Marg – T.B. Kadam Marg – Add’l C.P. office – Dr B.A. Road – RANI BAUG on Central Line. To reach here, one can come from Chinchpokali or Byculla Station.

Lalbaugcharaja Opening Ceremony 2019

Lalbagcha Raja Ganeshotsav 2019 will be inaugurated on Thursday 1st September 2019, early morning 4.00 AM by the Mandal’s President Mr.Balasaheb Sudam Kamble. The same will be further followed by Pratishthapana Puja.






Post the Puja, Lalbagcha Raja 2019 darshan will be opened to all the devotees from early morning 6.00 AM onwards and the Lalbaugcha Raja souvenir for 2018 will be published.

The Morning aarti will take place at 12.30 PM, by the Mandal’s President Mr.Balasaheb Sudam Kamble. The Evening aarti will take place at 08.30 PM.


Lalbagcha Raja 2019 Darshan

Lalbaugcha Raja darshan for all devotees will be available for 24 hours from early morning 6.00 AM, Thursday 1st September 2018 onwards to Saturday 22nd September 2018.


Lalbaugcharaja 2019 Charan Sparsh


Lalbaugcha Raja Charan Sparsh will be available for 24 hours from early morning 6.00 AM, Monday 1st September 2019 onwards. The darshan will be closed on Thursday 11th September 2019, Morning 10.00 A.M.

Charan Sparsh (Touch the Feet) will take the following route: Dinshaw Petit Lane – G.D. Ambekar Marg. To reach here one can come from Lower Parel Station on Western Line and Curry Road Station on Central Line.

Lalbagcha Raja 2019 Mukh Darshan 2019

Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan will be available for 24 hours from early morning 6.00 AM, Thursday 1st September 2019 onwards The darshan will be closed on Saturday 11th September 2019, Midnight 12.00 AM.

This ceremony of Lalbaugcha Raja’s first look and photoshoot will be organised by Lalbaug Sarvajanik Ganeshostav mandal.

Mukh Darshan line will take the following route:- Chhatrapati Shivaji Ground (Garam Khada) – Dr. B. A. Road – Dattaram Lad Marg – T.B. Kadam Marg – Add’l C.P. office – Dr. B. A. Road – RANI BAUG on Central Line. To reach here one can come from Chinchpokali or Byculla Station. (Depending upon the length of the line) The Mukh Darshan queue is also reachable from Cotton Green Station on Harbour Railway.)

Lalbagcha Raja Ganesh Utsav Mumbai Live Darshan 2018

One of Mumbai’s most famous Ganpati pandals, Lalbaugcha Raja witnesses a footfall of over 2 crores over the span of 10 days. This Ganeshotsav marks the 85th year of the pandal’s existence. In 1934, fishermen and vendors in the Lalbaug-Worli area set up the first idol here, and since then, the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal has grown to attract lakhs of devotees from across the country and globe. It is open for darshan around the clock from 6am on 13 September to 10am on 22 September 2018. Ganesh Chaturthi 2017 s just round the corner. Mumbai's most popular Ganpati celebrations are held at Lalbaug with its most amazing Ganesha idol named Lalbaugcha Raja.The Lalbaugcha Raja, King of Lalbaug, is undoubtedly the most famous Ganesh statue in Mumbai. The mandal was founded in 1934, and has grown to be the most visited one in the city.


Location: GD Ambedkar Road, Lalbaug (central Mumbai).
Waiting Time for Darshan: Can be 20 hours or more in the navas line. General line takes around five hours.
When to Visit: It's open around the clock. However, the busiest time is in the evening until midnight.
Nearest Railway Station: Walking distance from Lower Parel, Curry Road, and Chinchpolki stations.    

The most loved Ganesh mandal of Mumbai, Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvsajanik Ganeshotsav mandal revealed the first glimpse of idol on Monday. Thousands of devotees gathered together to get a first glimpse to Lalbaugcha Raja, which is celebrating 84th year this time. Here are some interesting facts.
 
➤This year, the Ganesh idol is sculpted in Korma avatar, which is second avatar of Lord Vishnu.
 
➤The Raja rests a tortoise throne at the backrest (prabhaval) designed by Nitin Desai, a famous art director and production designer from Bollywood, of a Jodhaa Akbar and Devdas fame.

➤Lalbaugcha Raja was founded in 1934 and is also considered ‘Navsacha Ganpati’, which means the fulfiller of all wishes

➤According to official website, the Lalbaugcha Raja will be inaugurated on Thursday, August 25, 2017 early in the morning at 4 am.
 
➤The pooja and pratishtahpana was done by Mandal President Balasaheb Kamble.
 
➤The Lalbaugcha Raja darshan will be opened to all devotees from early morning 6 am.
 
➤The aarti will take place at 12.30 pm and 8.30 pm every day.

Lalbagcha Raja 2017 Theme

The idol has been sculptured to resemble Korma, the second avatar of Lord Vishnu. 

A golden palace provides the backdrop.

According to the information available on official website, Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Utsav 2017 will be inaugurated on Friday 25th August 2017, early morning 4.00 AM by the Mandal’s President Mr.Balasaheb Sudam Kamble. Pratishthapana Puja will further follow the same. After the Puja, Lalbaugcha Raja 2017 Darshan will be opened to all the devotees from early morning 6.00 AM onwards, and the Lalbaugcha Raja souvenir for 2017 will be published. The Morning Aarti will take place at 12.30 PM, by the Mandal’s President Mr.Balasaheb Sudam Kamble. The Evening Aarti will take place at 08.30 PM. Udhyanand Seva Mandal will manage the Jagran for the first night.

Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan will be available for 24 hours from early morning 6.00 AM, Friday – 25th August 2017 onwards. The Mukh Darshan will be closed on Monday – 4th September 2017, midnite 12.00 PM. Mukh Darshan line will take the following route:- Chhatrapati Shivaji Ground (Garam Khada) – Dr.B.A. Road – Dattaram Lad Marg – T.B. Kadam Marg – Add’l C.P. office – Dr B.A. Road – RaniI Baug on Central Line. To reach here, one can come from Chinchpokali or Byculla Station. The much revered ‘Lalbaughcha Raja’, literally translated to be the King of Laulbaugh, will be displayed to the media in an event which is called ‘Mukh Darshan’ of Lalbaugcha Raja.

Every year Lalbaugcha Raja’s sculpture is the same but the prabhawal changes to make it more attractive and suitable to Ganesha idol. Last year, Lalbaugcha Raja was seen seated on owl which is considered to be Goddess Laxmi’s ‘vahana’ taking away the breaths of many with its attractive eyes.

Lalbaugcha Raja Mumbai Padyapujan Sohala (Ceremony) 2017 Date and timing

Lalbaugcha Raja is the most famous Sarvajanik Ganapati, kept at Lalbaug, a prominent locality in Mumbai during Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The idol is kept for public display for Eleven days there after it is immersed on the auspicious day of Anant Chaturdashi.About 2 or three months before  Ganesh Chaturthi Ganesh Mandal arrange Padyapujan Sohala (Ceremony).In this Pandyapujan ceremony, devotees  pay respect to gaint sculpture of a foot of  Lalbagcha Raja Ganesh idol.Flowers are placed around the foot of this idol as well as under it.Offering of fruits,coconut, betel nuts, dry grapes  dry fruits and many other things are made to this feet to Lord Ganesha.Here is some information about Lalbaugcha Raja Mumbai Padyapujan Sohala (Ceremony) 2017 Date ,timing and venue.
