Christmas Festival Special Speech for Teachers and Student

Christmas Speech -1

Good Morning All.Respected School Principal sir, Teachers/Students/friends.Today I will speak about Christmas festival.Christmas is celebrated all across the world by the people, especially people of Christian religion, every year on 25th of December. It is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the Jesus Christ, God of Christians who founded Christianity. Christmas falls every year in the winter season however people celebrate it with lots of joy, activities and happiness. It is one of the most important festival for the Christians of the year which they celebrate doing lots of preparations. The preparations of the celebration start a month ago and celebration ends 12 days after of the Christmas.

At this day people decorate a Christmas tree, invites their friends, relatives and neighbours to enjoy and distribute gift. Santa Claus come on this day at mid night at 12 pm to everyone’s home and secretly keep amazing gifts for the children in their houses. Children become very happy by getting gifts of their own likes in the early morning. All the schools, colleges, universities, offices and other government and non-government organizations become closed at this day. Everyone enjoy it as a Christmas holiday by doing lots of activities throughout the day.

People enjoy a big dinner party called feast. They prepare lots of delicious dishes, sweets, fruits, nuts, etc on the dining table. Everyone wear colourful dress, dance, sing, party and enjoy doing other adventurous activities. At this day, Christian people do pray to their God, confess about their all sins and sufferings, sing holy songs and meet each other with love.

Respacted School Principal Sir, Teachers,Students/My Friends/Classmate.Today is my subject speak about My Favorite festival.I speak about Christmas festival.Christmas is a festival that is celebrated all over the world commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is observed on 25th of December every year. A world wide celebration takes place during the month of December.Once the Christmas season starts, we can see Christmas carols in every street. Christians gather together and sing to raise money for charity. The carols include traditional Christian songs; we can hear these songs in shopping malls and centers.

The customs that people follow are interesting and entertaining. People send Christmas cards to their family and friends to share their happiness and give away their Christmas wishes. On the great day, many activities like praying, dinner party and exchanging gifts take place. The dinner arrangement is generally called feast, where friends and relatives together sit, eat and get pleasure from celebrations amidst their busy life. People enjoy the day with great happiness forgetting all their worries and troubles. Santa Claus is “Father Christmas” who entertains children on Christmas day and gives gifts to them. Children keep expecting the arrival of Santa Claus with gifts every minute. Christmas reminds us of childhood, besides our life today that has become painful and difficult. Christmas tries to give away happiness and hope to people all across the world.

Christmas Festival Special Recipes

On Christmas festival people enjoy with  recipes.Here is some information Christmas special recipes.

Kaju Katli Recipe

Preparation time: 6 hours (including soaking time)
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

Cashew nuts - 100 grams Sugar - equal quantity as cashew after making a paste
Ghee - 1 tsp
Cardamom powder - a pinch

Method

Soak the cashews in water for 6-8 hrs. Remove it from the water and grind to a smooth paste. Do not add water while grinding.
Measure the quantity of paste, take equal quantity of sugar. For e.g: If there is 1/4 cup of cashew paste, take 1/4 cup of sugar.
Take a heavy bottomed pan or a non stick pan and melt the sugar. Add the cashew paste and cook for few minutes. Add the ghee.
When it starts leaving the sides of the pan, add the cardamom powder and mix well.
Remove it on the platform and knead to a smooth ball. You will get a nice dough of it.
Flatten the same with the rolling pin on a plate. Cut it into any desired shape. Traditionally it is cut in diamond shape. 

Nut roast Recipe

Preparation time: 20 mnuts
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves:1

Ingredients


1 medium onion 1oz butter
8oz mixed nuts, such as peanuts, cashews, walnuts, etc
4oz wholemeal bread
½ pint vegetable stock
2tsp yeast extract
1tsp mixed herbs

Method

Chop the onions finely and cook them in the butter until transparent.
Blend the nuts and bread together in a liquidiser until you get them to a fine consistency. Pulse the liquidiser if the mixture looks like it is forming clumps.
Heat the stock and yeast extract to boiling point, then combine all the ingredients together and mix well. The mixture should be fairly loose.
Turn into a greased shallow baking dish and make the surface as level as possible. Then sprinkle with a few breadcrumbs.

Christmas all over the world is celebrated on Christmas Day, the 25th of December. Some countries however have different Christmas traditions and Christmas traditions and celebrations take place over a longer period of time.Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations for the people belonging to the Christian faith. But it would be wrong to assume that it is only celebrated among the Christians. With the world becoming a global village, Christmas is now celebrated in many countries around the world.This is a collection of historical Christmas celebrations for many different countries. 

Christmas in India


In Christian households, preparations for Christmas begin atleast a month in advance. People get their homes whitewashed and indulge in spring cleaning of the house to give it a fresh new look. Ladies start preparations for the traditional Christmas cake which is anxiously awaited not just by the entire family but also by the neighbors! Hectic shopping activity takes place as everyone buys new clothes for the festival. People staying in different cities for job or higher studies rush back to their homes to celebrate Christmas with their near and dear ones.Customs for Christmas celebrations vary in the vast expanse of India. These variations are largely because of the local cultural influence. In South India, for instance, Christians light clay lamps on the rooftops and walls of their houses, the same way as Hindus decorate their homes during the Diwali Festival. Besides, in several states of India a popular custom is to decorate banana or mango tree instead of traditional pine tree. In northwest India, the tribal Christians of the Bhil tribe go out night after night for a week during Christmas to sing their equivalent of carols the whole night through. In Mumbai, which has one of the largest Roman Catholic communities in India, there is a tradition to depict nativity scenes and decorate home with big stars.

People celebrate Christmas Day in many ways. In the days or even weeks before Christmas Day, many people decorate their homes and gardens with lights, Christmas trees and much more. It is common to organize a special meal, often consisting of turkey and a lot of other festive foods, for family or friends and exchange gifts with them. Children, in particular, often receive a lot of gifts from their parents and other relatives and the mythical figure Santa Claus. This has led to Christmas Day becoming an increasingly commercialized holiday, with a lot of families spending a large part of their income on gifts and food.Many Sunday schools, churches and communities organize special events. These can include decorating the neighborhood or a shopping mall, putting up a Christmas tree and planning a Nativity display, concert or performance. A lot of plays and songs have a aspect of Christmas as a theme. Some groups arrange meals, shelter or charitable projects for people without a home or with very little money.

Christmas in France

Every country does Christmas slightly differently, and the French - who, to their credit, rarely do things like the rest of the world - naturally have their own Christmas traditions, that they have just about held on to over the years. From a British perspective, for example, the big downside of Christmas in France is the absence of Boxing Day, but then the French don't generally need a second day off to recover from a Christmas pudding or turkey-induced hangover. And they make up for it in other ways, with their festive season stretching out over weeks rather than 48 hours. So if you're spending Christmas in France this year, or you're abroad and just wondering what the Gallic way of celebrating "Noël" is, then here are ten traditions that mark "Christmas à la française".

Christmas in Australia

In Australia, it is tradition in the weeks up to Christmas to join in Christmas picnics organized by various churches and sing Christmas carols on the beach. As Australia is on the southern hemisphere, Christmas is in summer time and thus it is easy to understand that during Christmas time friends and family often gather at the beach.Young people, families and friends gathering in Bondi Beach near Sydney on Christmas Day.

Christmas in Italy


In Italy, a nativity scene, a ‘presepe’, is usually put up in churches, town squares and often in houses and is for many the most important parts of Christmas decorations. The nativity scene display with a crib filled with straw, originally stems from Italy and is now common occurrence in many countries around the world. In Italy, ‘Babbo Natale’, that's how Father Christmas is called in Italian, hands out presents to children on Christmas Day. Still in many families, gifts are exchanged only on January 6 that is the day of Epiphany. The people wish each other ‘Buon Natale’, which means Merry Christmas.

Christmas in Germany

Both December 25 and 26 are legal holidays in Germany and are known as the First and Second Christmas Day respectively. What originally started out as a church celebration of Christ's birth has gradually become a family celebration. Businesses are closed, and time is spent visiting with extended family. Goose is the traditional fare on the First Christmas Day, or perhaps rabbit or a roast. These are accompanied by traditional German fare such as apple and sausage stuffing, red cabbage, and potato dumplings. The second Christmas day is usually a quieter time, a day for peaceful contemplation.On Christmas Eve, German families ,whether Protestant or Catholic and even those who are not regular church-goers - often attend mass or a church service. While the mass traditionally takes place at midnight, in recent times the services have moved into the earlier evening hours.

Christmas in United Kingdom  


Most people in the UK celebrate Christmas, even if they are not religious. There will be Christmas trees, presents, carol singing, mulled wine (warm, spiced red wine), mince pies (small pies with a sweet fruit filling) and if it snows, snowmen and snowball fights! The traditional Christmas dinner is a whole roast turkey with roast potatoes, vegetables, gravy and Christmas pudding for dessert (a steamed sponge pudding with dried fruit) – but each family has its own variations.In many towns and cities, the shopping streets are also decorated with lights and large pine trees, often specially imported from Norway.Many people spend Christmas Day with family members, with whom they exchange gifts and cards. Many children wake up to find a sock or stocking filled with small gifts on their bed or somewhere else in the house. These have supposedly been brought by a mythical figure called 'Father Christmas' or 'Santa Claus', who lives for most of the year at the North Pole. Later in the day, people may attend special church services, even if they do not usually go to church. Nearly everyone prepares and eats a special meal.

Some Fact about Christmas

Each year, 30-35 million real Christmas trees are sold in the United States alone. There are 21,000 Christmas tree growers in the United States, and trees usually grow for about 15 years before they are sold.

Christmas 25th December 2018-About Christmas Day 2018-How to Celebrate-Christmas History

Christmas festival celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ.It is celebrated every year 25th December all over world.People decorate their houses, erect Christmas trees, make cribs with figures of baby Jesus, Mother Mary,Joseph, the three kings who come to visit the baby and shepherd boys and their herds grazing around, depicting the scenes of Jesus' birth in the Bible.They decorate the Christmas tree, gifts and illuminate them.

On the Christmas day, people enjoy a sumptuous Christmas lunch.Christmas cakes and wine are served to visitors and gifts given to friends and relatives.Christmas celebrations very in different parts of India.In Some parts, small clay oil-burning lamps, mango leaves etc are used as Christmas decorations and mango and banana trees are decorated.All the major Indian cities wear a festive look.Shops and markets are decorated for the occasion and offer attractive bargains.

Carol singing , get-together and the exchanging of gifts enhance the Christmas spirit.Christmas parties go on for at least a week, retaining the festive mood  to celebrate the new year.on 25th December Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Nativity of Jesus Christ , the founder of Christianity.


This is the most important and the merriest festival of the Christians.Other communities in India also look upon it as a festival of goodwill and greetings.During the British period it was celebrated on an All-India basis.From the Christmas Eve i.e the evening of 24th December public holidays for two days were declared.Thus the festival concluded with welcoming of the New Year.Children and youngsters looked forward to Christmas holidays when they enjoyed themselves to their heart's content.It was also during the British period that the christian missionaries penetrated to the interior of India even to the tribal regions, resulting in the number of people who were converted to Christian faith rendering the Christians becoming the third most important community in India.

After India achieved independence, this festival lost much of its official importance; yet the traditional celebration of it continues specially in metropolitan cities of Kolkatta, Delhi,Mumbai and Chennai, where Christians as well as non-Christians celebrate it on quite a grand scale.shops and homes take on a festive look.Streets and markets go gay with festival wares.

Dances, songs,Christmas trees, Santa Claus moving through the streets in his glittering colorful robes, glowing long snow white beard and shaking hands with children in the streets, creates special attraction of this festival.Families get together around sparkling Christmas trees, from whose branches hang numerous lovely gifts.When the youngsters receive the gifts and open them, they dance with joy.Both men women, young and old take pains in designing the cribs, sheep and shepherds, old Joseph, young Virgin Mary , infant Jesus nestling in his cradle of hay, angels floating in the star-studded sky and the Three Wise Men on the fringe of horizon.

The day is spent in meeting friends and relatives.Delicious dishes of turkey, wine and Christmas cakes are eaten and served to visitors,Greetings cards wishing joy and peace are exchanged.The night is enlivened with dances, carols and mid-night masses in all the churches.Youngsters dance hilariousl on the streets singing carols to the accompaniment of musical instruments.The most popular carol is : " Silent night, holy night all is clam, all is bright round you Virgin Mother and Child Holy infant so tender and mild sleep in heavenly peace." Even upcoming artists get a chance to perform along with well-established artist.Thus the Christmas season is rung in with a feeling of happiness and goodwill amidst the clouds of discontent.

The early Christians in the Roman Empire could not celebrate the birth of Jesus and under compulsion they had to practice their religion in secret, because Christianity in Rome had grown up in blood and tears.To publicly profess their religion meant grave risks of life, and many a time resulted in death punishments.As a such events associated with the life of Christ were commemorated by keeping fasts, prayers and performing rites but not by public celebrations.But after the conversion of Emperor Constantine to the Christian religion 4th century A.D. that creed, professed by a few secret groups of enthusiastic believers was transformed into the religion of vast masses of humanity in Europe,Western Asia and North Africa.With this the need for a popular festival to annually celebrating Jesus' birth on different dates like 6th January , 19th April, 20th May, 17th November, and 25th December.By the 5th century A.D. 25th December come to be accepted as the most suitable date in the Western World, and gradually the Eastern Churches fell in line with the west.

In India all the Christians do not recognize this date.The Syrian Christians who belong to Kerala do not celebrate this festival on 25th December.They celebrate it on 7th January with procession of elephants and musicians.Those processions are almost like Hindu Temple festivals.It is believed that those processions spiritually elevate the place through which they pass and also prevent epidemics.The music, fireworks and illuminations turn cold, dark winter nights into bright, dazzling days.Gaily decorated crosses of gold or silver are the main sacred symbols that are taken out in processions.But with arrival of the Portuguese on the scene, images of saints were added to the procession.These age-old pageants are now being replace in Syrian churches by community prayers and services, aiming at spiritual uplift of the congregation.Yet most of the Syrian Catholic Churches even today take out small processions.The religions of India during 16th Century A.D. were ardent supporters of Christianity. So the Christian religion spread widely in their dominion.Christians observe certain days like the Palm Sunday , Monday,Thursday,Good Friday and Easter to commemorate certain events in the last 8 days of Christ's life-Crucifixion and his Resurrection.From Goa, the capital of the Eastern Empire of the Portuguese, missions were sent to several places in the country even to the Mogul court, but those missions did not achieve any spectacular success.

It was only during the British period that the Christianity spread all over the country.The festival of Christmas is celebrated for ten contiguous days.The end of these Christian festivities is commencing of the New year.The British introduced the Gregorian Calendar and throughout their rule it was the only calendar in use for official purpose.Even after they left and India became independent that calendar is being followed in India for official purposes.The first day of January is the New Year of Gregorian Calendar.
