Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra 2017 Date, Schedule and Puja Timing in Jagannath Temple Puri Orissa

Rath Yatra starts on Ashasa Sudha Vidiya day of Gujarati month.The uniqueness of Jaganath temple puri is main deities will bw tken out in a procession in three chariots.In Sanskrit, Ratha means "chariot", and Yatra means "journey"; the festival usually involves an annual procession (journey) of a deity's idols. Other names for the festival include Ratha yatra or chariot festival.On the day of the Ratha Yatra or car festival, chariots or Rath carrying Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra is pulled to the nearby Gundicha Temple.

3rd July 2017 : Lord Jagannath will return to Shri kshetra on 10th day of charoit festival.The return journey of Rath yatra referred to as Bahuda yatra.
5th July 2017 : Sunavesha festival is celebrated on Dwadashi day.
7th July 2017:  This day known as ashada sukla chaturdashi , Pohandi festival is held to three deities Lord jagannath ,Balbhadra and subhadra.This marks the end of Jagannath Rath yatra puri.

The main Attraction of the Puri Rath Yatra festival is Three Chariot of Lord Jagannath Ji,Lord Balbhadra and Subhadraji.Rath Yatra festival is also known as Car Festival. Rath Yatra Festival is celebrated in the month of Asadha, on the second day of the lunar fortnight that falls during month of June-July. 

The chariots are an architectural marvel.The three chariots used for the annual Puri Jagannath Ratha Yatra are newly constructed each year. A particular family of carpenters owns the hereditary right to construct the chariots. The construction of the chariots begins on the Akashya Tritiya day, which is around three months before the actual Ratha Yatra day.Here is Some Information about Three Chariot of Puri Rath Yatra.
