Lalbaugcha Raja 2025 First Look Unveiled in Mumbai- Mukh Darshan- Ganeah chaturthi


The wait is finally over! The much-anticipated first look of Lalbaugcha Raja 2025 has been unveiled in Mumbai, filling devotees’ hearts with devotion and excitement ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2025.


The Majestic Idol


This year, the idol of Lalbaugcha Raja has been designed with unparalleled grandeur and divine charm:




Attire & Adornments: 


Bappa is seen in a royal purple dhoti and a majestic crown, seated gracefully on a golden throne. His attire also features maroon (merun) garments with golden embellishments, symbolizing prosperity and blessings.

Backdrop & Theme: 


The mandap resembles a lavish “Gajanan Mahal”, inspired by the crown of Tirupati Balaji. The magnificent darbar rises to nearly 50 feet, making it taller and more majestic than previous years.

Lighting & Ceremony: 


The unveiling was celebrated with dazzling laser lights, chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” and an overwhelming presence of devotees.

Eco-Friendly Approach


In tune with sustainable practices, this year’s idol has been crafted using lightweight and eco-friendly materials. This ensures not only grandeur but also a smoother, cleaner immersion during the visarjan.

Dates of Celebration


Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated from Wednesday, 27th August 2025 to Saturday, 6th September 2025. During this period, lakhs of devotees are expected to visit Lalbaug to seek the blessings of Navsacha Ganpati – the wish-fulfilling Ganesha.

Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai's most iconic Ganesh Chaturthi pandals, has a rich history that goes back to 1934. Established by the fishermen and vendors of the Koli community in Lalbaug, Mumbai, the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was formed following a vow (Navas) made by the community for the construction of a permanent marketplace. This simple beginning has since grown into a symbol of deep faith and devotion for millions of people.
       
                               

Lalbagcha Raja Mumbai 2024 First Look 

The first look of Lalbaugcha Raja was revealed on Sepetember 5, amidst people performing to the tunes of traditional folk songs and numerous devotees that gathered with their sights set on getting a sneak-peak of Lord Ganesh.Lalbaugcha Raja aka ‘King of Lalbaug’, situated in Putlabai Chawl, is considered one of the most visited Ganesh pandals in Mumbai. 

 

The Modern Era

The Modern Era Today, Lalbaugcha Raja is known for its grand celebrations, elaborate decorations, and huge crowds. Each year, the pandal is visited by millions of devotees who come to seek blessings and enjoy the spiritual ambiance. The organizers also focus on giving back to society through social initiatives such as blood donation drives, medical camps, and educational support for underprivileged children.

Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten-day festival that starts on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month ‘Bhadrapada’, will start on September 7 this year. This auspicious ten-day festival starts with ‘Chaturthi’ and ends on ‘Anantha Chaturdashi’.




The festive period is also known as ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayak Chavithi’. The festival celebrates Ganesha as the ‘God of New Beginnings’ and the ‘Remover of Obstacles’ as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence.
It is celebrated with much fanfare in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, with lakhs of devotees converging into mandals to seek blessing from Lord Ganesh.
For the festivities, people bring Lord Ganesh idols to their homes, observe fasts, prepare mouth-watering delicacies, and visit pandals during the festival.

Ganesh Chaturthi commences on the fourth day of Hindu Luni-solar calendar month Bhadrapada. It is believed that Lord Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was born on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi in Magh month (fourth day of the bright half of moon’s cycle during January/February), decided by Hindu calendar (lunar calendar). Ganesh Chaturthi festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Ganeshotsav is celebrated to remember his birthday and venerates him as the god of good beginnings, fortune, wisdom, prosperity and obstacle remover (Vighnaharta). We wish all the Lord Ganesh devotees, a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. 

Lalbaugcharaja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal of Lalbaug is one of Mumbai’s most well-known pandals. Lalbaugcha Raja (King of Lalbaug) was founded in 1934 and is undoubtedly the most renowned and largest Ganesh statue in Mumbai, as well as the most visited. Lalbaugcha Raja mandal will build a replica of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir this year.


Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan will be available for 24 hours from ev3ning 7.00 PM, st 29th August Monday 2022 onwards. Mukh Darshan line will take the following route:- Chhatrapati Shivaji Ground (Garam Khada) – Dr.B.A. Road – Dattaram Lad Marg – T.B. Kadam Marg – Add’l C.P. office – Dr B.A. Road – RANI BAUG on Central Line. To reach here, one can come from Chinchpokali or Byculla Station.

Lalbaugcha Raja is a well-known and frequently visited Ganesh idol in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Every year, lakhs of devotees herd to the Lalbagh market to visit the Lalbaugcha Raja in Putlabai Chawl. The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshostsav Mandal is ready to celebrate the traditional festival this year, after two years of hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
