About Mokshada Ekadasi
Mokshada Ekadashi is observed in Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of the Hindu month of Agrahayana. This date corresponds in the month of November or December in the Gregorian calendar. The day of Mokshada Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Krishna , when devotees perform Vrat (fasts) for the whole day. It is also known as Vaikuntha Ekadashi. Worshipping Lord Krishna and Geeta on this Ekadashi provides great religious merits.
Mokshada Ekadashi is also called Gita Jayanti in various parts of India. It is called Baikuntha Ekadashi in Orissa and in states in South India. It is also called Mauna Ekadashi and is regarded as one of the most significant rituals to ask forgiveness for all sins committed during the year or one’s lifetime. People also ask for the forgiveness of sins of their forefathers and pray for their souls.
Get up early in the morning and if possible keep fast and read Mokshada Ekadashi Vrat Katha.
Worship Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta, perform Geeta path and do arti.
Temples all over the India makes a door like structure on this day for devotees to pass through that. These doors signifies the door to Lord’s adobe i.e. Vaikunth.
So, you must visit temple, perform Puja and offer prasad.
At home, worship lord Vishnu with incense sticks, lamps, Navedai etc.
Performing Jagran, read Vishnu sahastranaam, sing Bhajan or sing aarti.
Give donation to Brahims or any needy person.
