The Hindu festival of Jaya Parvati Vrat holds immense significance among women. It is a 5-day fasting celebration that is observed by women in Northern parts of India, especially Gujarat. The festivities and the Vrat is basically associated with Goddess Jaya, an avatar of Goddess Parvati. Jaya Parvati Vrat is a 5-day festival that is celebrated in the month of Ashadha. The festivities begin on Trayodashi tithi in Shukla Paksha and ends on Tritiya tithi in Krishna Paksha after a span of 5 days. Unmarried women observe this fast for good husband whereas married women observe this fast for marital bliss and for their husband’s long life. This fast, if begun once, should be continued for 5, 7, 9, 11 or 20 years consistently.

Jaya Parvati Vrat Jagran 2018 date is July 29. The Vrata is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is performed for the well being of the family and for peace and prosperity.
