About Dhuleti Festival
Dhuleti is just another name for Holi, the festival of colors and is more common in the Braj region of India especially Mathura. Also called Dhuleti or Rangwali Holi, this festival is played with gulal which is smeared on each other’s faces on the day of the festival. Celebrated in honor of Sri Krishna, this is the second largest festival in India after Diwali.Dhuleti, the Hindu festival marked by colors, fun and gaiety, falls on the day after full moon day in the month of Phalgun (February – March).The first day of the festival is the Holika Dahan or lighting of bonfire and seond day known as Dhuleti.It is the day of colors and all people play with spreading colours on each other. Every person celebrate this festival joyfully. It is the biggest festival so all people each and every poor, rich, young, old, children enjoy this festival and celebrate it.On this day people play with different colorful colors and also enjoy by spreading colors on each other and small children fill the color water in balloons and throw on each other and some people also make fun of peoples living beside them by spreading lot of black color on them.
In market there are many types of colour are present and people buy that colours according to their choice. The coloured frenzy of oranges and reds,greens and blues, purples and blacks soon washes away all the enmity amongst the people and serves to bring the community closer.Small children demand for “Pichkaris” to play with coloured water. And they also purchase Balloons from the market.
